Optimize a Meta campaign with improvement proposals
Updated 2026-10-15
In CustomIQ you optimize a Meta campaign by typing "Optimize my ad campaign on Meta." in the IQ chat: you pick the campaign, the agent analyses its results (the analysis consumes credits and shows the amount first), proposes concrete changes and applies the ones you confirm. The proposals also stay in the Optimization proposals tab of Campaigns.

What is optimizing a campaign?
It is analysing the real results of an active campaign (cost per result, reach, ads that perform and ads that do not) and applying changes: adjusting budget, pausing weak ads, reinforcing audiences. In CustomIQ the agent does the analysis and you decide what to apply.
How do I do it in the chat?
Type "Optimize my ad campaign on Meta." in the IQ chat. You pick the campaign, confirm the analysis (you see its cost first), the agent studies the campaign and returns proposals; you mark the ones you want and it applies them.
What do I do from the dashboard?
Decide on proposals already generated. In Optimization proposals you apply or discard each one; in Campaigns you open the campaign to see its metrics and change history.
What does it cost?
The analysis consumes credits and the amount is shown before you confirm. Applying or discarding proposals is free.
Is it analysed on its own every day?
Only if you switch it on: daily optimization is off by default. In Campaigns open the campaign and turn on Daily optimization in its Optimization section; before it turns on you see what each analysis costs. From then on, every morning CustomIQ analyses the campaign and leaves its proposals in Optimization proposals. Each analysis is charged, even when it finds nothing; a campaign that has not spent yet is not charged. Across Meta and LinkedIn it never goes above 50 credits a day. You can switch it off at any time.
Where is it in the dashboard?
Steps
- Type the phrase. In the IQ chat type "Optimize my ad campaign on Meta.".
- Pick the campaign. Select the active campaign you want to analyse.
- Confirm the analysis. The chat shows the analysis cost; confirm so it starts.
- Pick the changes. Review the proposals (budget, ads, audiences) and mark the ones to apply.
- Confirm. CustomIQ applies the chosen changes on your Meta account.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I optimize from the dashboard?
- Yes. In Campaigns open the active campaign and click "Optimize campaign"; it asks you to confirm before the analysis is charged. Proposals are still decided in the Optimization proposals tab.
- How often should I optimize?
- Wait until the campaign has data; the agent flags proposals worth your time in the Daily digest.
- Is it analysed on its own every day?
- Only if you switch it on. Daily optimization is off by default; turn it on in the Optimization section of the campaign in Campaigns, which shows the cost first. Each analysis is charged (about 5 credits), at most 50 credits a day across Meta and LinkedIn, and it applies nothing without you.
- Does optimization reset Meta's learning phase?
- Large budget or audience changes can restart the learning phase; the agent takes that into account when proposing.
