Optimize a LinkedIn Ads campaign with improvement proposals

Updated 2026-10-15

In CustomIQ you optimize a LinkedIn Ads campaign by typing "Optimize my ad campaign on LinkedIn." in the IQ chat: you pick the campaign, the agent analyses each segment and format, proposes concrete changes and applies only the ones you confirm. The analysis consumes credits; if the campaign has not spent yet, nothing is charged.

In the chat: type this phrase in the IQ chat

  • Optimize my ad campaign on LinkedIn.
Open the IQ chat
From the dashboard:IQ chatCampaigns

What is optimizing a LinkedIn campaign?

It is reviewing the real results of each LinkedIn campaign (one per audience segment and ad format) and changing what does not work: moving budget towards what gets cheaper leads, pausing ads that spend without results and stopping a segment or format that does not perform. The agent proposes; you decide what is applied.

How do I do it in the chat?

Type "Optimize my ad campaign on LinkedIn." in the IQ chat. You pick the campaign, the agent studies LinkedIn's last 7 and 30 days and returns numbered proposals. Type the numbers of the ones you want to apply and confirm.

What does it never do without you?

Anything. Every change needs your confirmation. It also never touches a campaign in its first week, never moves the budget more than 20% at once and never leaves the strategy without active ads.

Is it reviewed on its own every day?

Only if you switch it on: daily optimization is off by default. In Campaigns open the campaign and turn on Daily optimization in its Optimization section; before it turns on you see what each analysis costs. From then on, every morning CustomIQ analyses the campaign and leaves any change that can be applied in the Proposals tab. Each analysis is charged, even when it finds nothing; a campaign that has not spent yet is not charged. Across Meta and LinkedIn it never goes above 50 credits a day. You can switch it off at any time, and nothing is applied until you pick it.

A free check also lets you know in Campaigns when a campaign shows signs of wear: spend on ads without results, a falling CTR or a rising cost per result.

What does it cost?

The analysis consumes credits and the chat tells you the amount when it finishes. Nothing is charged if the campaign has not spent yet or while a previous change is being measured. Applying or discarding proposals is free, with one exception: refreshing a creative generates a new ad, and the image is charged like any generated image. That ad is published only in the fatigued campaign once it is ready.

Where is it in the dashboard?

Steps

  1. Type the phrase. In the IQ chat type "Optimize my ad campaign on LinkedIn.".
  2. Pick the campaign. Select the active LinkedIn campaign you want to analyse.
  3. Review the proposals. The agent analyses each segment and format and shows numbered proposals with their risk; recommendations you apply by hand are listed separately.
  4. Pick the changes. Type the numbers of the proposals you want to apply.
  5. Confirm. CustomIQ applies on LinkedIn only the changes you picked.

Frequently asked questions

Which changes can CustomIQ apply on LinkedIn?
Adjust a campaign's daily budget (at most 20% at a time and never below LinkedIn's daily minimum), pause an ad that spends without results, and pause the campaign of a segment or format that does not work. It also refreshes the creatives of a fatigued campaign: it creates a new ad and publishes it in that campaign once ready (in a carousel campaign it stays a recommendation). Changing the bid is proposed as a recommendation for you to do.
Why does it propose nothing for a new campaign?
LinkedIn needs at least a week to spread the budget. During the first week the agent recommends waiting and does not touch that campaign.
Can it pause all my ads?
No. It never pauses the last active ad of a campaign or the last active campaign of the strategy.
What does it cost?
The analysis consumes credits and the chat tells you the amount when it finishes. If the campaign has not spent yet, or a previous change is being measured, nothing is charged. Applying or discarding proposals is free, except refreshing a creative: the new image is charged like any generated image.
Is it analysed on its own every day?
Only if you switch it on. Daily optimization is off by default; turn it on in the Optimization section of the campaign in Campaigns, which shows the cost first. Each analysis is charged (about 5 credits), whether or not it finds something to apply, at most 50 credits a day across Meta and LinkedIn, and it applies nothing without you.
How do I know my LinkedIn campaign is worth optimizing?
Every morning CustomIQ checks your LinkedIn campaigns for free and lets you know in Campaigns when it sees spend on ads without results, a CTR falling against the last 30 days or a rising cost per result. The alert charges and changes nothing.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. CustomIQ measures every applied change; if it makes results worse, it proposes putting it back.
