Hosted blog on CustomIQ or WordPress
Updated 2026-10-11
In CustomIQ you can publish articles on a blog hosted by CustomIQ (a subdomain such as your-brand.blogs.customiq.ai, with sitemap, RSS and structured data) or on your connected WordPress. Create the hosted blog in Blogs, or answer "host it on CustomIQ" when the IQ chat asks; for WordPress, choose it as the destination when generating articles.

What is the difference between the hosted blog and WordPress?
The hosted blog is created and maintained by CustomIQ on its own subdomain, SEO-ready from day one. WordPress is your website: CustomIQ publishes to it through a connection. Both are managed from Blogs.
How is it chosen in the chat?
When you ask for a plan with blog or SEO in the IQ chat, the agent reaches an integration step and asks about WordPress. If you answer "host it on CustomIQ", it creates the hosted blog and attaches it to the plan; if you prefer WordPress, it asks for the URL and an application password.
What do I do from the dashboard?
In Blogs you see your blogs, the hosted blog's address and its next monthly charge, and you deactivate it whenever you want. The "Create blog" form there creates a new hosted blog: segment, optional brand, name and address (CustomIQ subdomain or your own domain). WordPress does not need a blog: connect it once from the chat and choose it as the destination in the article generator.
What does it cost?
The hosted blog costs 500 credits at creation and has a monthly charge while active; if there is no balance it enters a grace period before being deactivated. Publishing to your WordPress has no extra cost.
Steps
- Create the hosted blog. In Blogs, pick a segment, name the blog, choose a CustomIQ subdomain or your own domain; or tell the chat "host it on CustomIQ".
- Or use your WordPress. Connect WordPress once from the IQ chat; you do not create a blog for it.
- Choose the destination. When generating articles, choose the hosted blog or WordPress as the destination.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I use my own domain on the hosted blog?
- Yes. When creating it in Blogs choose "Own domain", add the DNS record shown at your provider and press "Verify DNS".
- Is the hosted blog ready for SEO and AI assistants?
- Yes. It includes a sitemap, RSS, llms.txt and structured data on every article.
- Can I switch from WordPress to the hosted blog later?
- Yes. When asking for a new plan with a blog you can pick the other destination; already published articles stay where they are.
