What is connecting the Google Business Profile?
It authorises CustomIQ, with your own Google account, to read your listing's reviews, reply when you approve and publish posts to it. CustomIQ only sees the listings managed by the account you sign in with, and each listing links to one brand.
What do I do from the dashboard?
Open General settings, Integrations tab, and press the Google Business Profile card. Sign in to Google and, back in CustomIQ, pick the active brand's listing and press "Link listing". The card shows the linked listing's name; from it you can unlink it or connect another account.
Once linked, reviews show up in Reviews and you can publish to Google with the Google button in the content grid or schedule it in the calendar. Each post takes a text, one photo and an optional button.
What do I need first?
To be an owner or manager of the listing in your Google Business Profile, and to have the brand it belongs to set up in CustomIQ.
How much does it cost?
Connecting the listing is free.
Steps
- Open Integrations. Go to General settings and open the Integrations tab with the right brand selected.
- Connect with Google. Press the Google Business Profile card and sign in with the account that owns or manages your listing.
- Pick the listing. Back in CustomIQ you see the listings that account manages; pick this brand's and press "Link listing".
- Start using it. Your reviews arrive on the Reviews page and you can publish to Google from the grid or the calendar.
Frequently asked questions
- Why don't I see my listing in the list?
- The list only shows listings managed by the Google account you signed in with. Press "Connect another Google account" and sign in with the owner or manager account.
- Can two brands use the same listing?
- No. Each listing belongs to one brand; if it shows "On another brand", unlink it there first.
- Do Google posts need a button?
- No. The button is optional; if you add a link Google shows the button you pick, and "Call" uses the listing's phone number. Posts CustomIQ creates carry "Learn more" to the article or landing they come from, or to your brand website.
- Can I publish my articles on Google?
- Yes, as a short post: Google does not take full articles. In the article or landing press "Post on social" and keep Google selected, alone or with other networks. Pick "With image" (a square image, or the Instagram one when that is selected too) or "Text only". The post carries a "Learn more" button that opens the page once it is live. Google takes no video.
- What happens if I revoke access in Google?
- The card asks you to reconnect and scheduled posts fail until you do.
