Approve the budget and deploy a Meta campaign

Updated 2026-10-12

In CustomIQ you deploy a Meta campaign from the Campaigns page: with the creatives approved, review the proposed budget, approve it and click deploy. CustomIQ creates the campaign, ad sets and ads in your Meta account, which starts charging you the ad spend; in the dashboard the campaign becomes active.

What is deploying a campaign?

It is actually publishing it to your Meta ad account. Until then the campaign only exists in CustomIQ as a draft with approved creatives and budget.

What do I do from the dashboard?

In Campaigns the detail has five steps: Strategy, Budget, Creatives, Audience and Launch. Approve the budget in its step; with the assets generated, the Launch step checks the connected Meta account, the budget and the creatives and shows the deploy button with the amount to confirm. The campaign becomes active and CustomIQ syncs its results in the live panel; if Meta refuses the deploy, the banner explains why and how to fix it.

Can I deploy from the chat?

The chat tells you when the campaign is ready and takes you to review it, but budget approval and deployment happen on the Campaigns page.

What do I need first?

A valid Meta Ads connection in Connections with a payment method set on Meta, and the creatives approved.

What do I do if Meta refuses the deploy?

Open the campaign in Campaigns and go to Launch: you see the reason Meta gave and how to fix it, with a button to the Meta page where you fix it. The most common reasons are:

  • Non-discrimination policy not accepted: a business admin must accept it in Meta Business Suite (Business settings → Users → System users).
  • No valid payment method: add or update it in Meta's Billing & payments center.
  • The connected account has no permission on the ad account: an admin must give it the Advertiser role or higher.
  • Meta can't find the Instagram account: add it to your business on Meta and give the ad account access to it.
  • Facebook Page permissions missing: reconnect Meta in Connections and accept every permission.

If Meta gives another reason, the campaign shows Meta's message as is. Once it's fixed, click Retry. If only the video ad failed, the rest of the campaign is published and a notice tells you why the video didn't go out.

Do my Meta ads appear on my Instagram profile?

Yes. Before creating each image, video or carousel ad, CustomIQ publishes it as a post on the Instagram account linked to your ad's Facebook Page, and the ad promotes that post: it shows on your grid and likes and comments add up there instead of staying hidden in the ad. Videos go out as Reels, vertical images are cropped to 4:5 (the tallest the feed allows) and carousel cards all take the first card's shape. Nothing is posted on your Facebook Page, but the ad still shows on Facebook. In catalog campaigns the post is published too, but Meta only lets the ad use the catalog format. If there is no Instagram connected in Connections, the ad runs as before, without appearing on your profile.

Where is it in the dashboard?

Steps

  1. Approve the creatives. Finish the creative review in the campaign.
  2. Review the budget. Check the proposed monthly budget and adjust it if you need to.
  3. Approve the budget. Confirm the budget; it is recorded on the campaign.
  4. Deploy. Click deploy; CustomIQ publishes the campaign to your Meta account and marks it active.

Frequently asked questions

Can I deploy again if I change something?
Yes, the campaign supports a redeploy from its detail to publish changes.
Who charges me the ad spend?
Meta, through your ad account's payment method. CustomIQ only charges credits for generating and analysing.
Why do I not see the campaign on Meta?
Check that you deployed (approving is not enough) and that the Meta connection is still valid in Connections.
What do I do if Meta refuses the deploy?
Open the campaign in Campaigns: the Launch step shows the reason Meta gave and how to fix it, with a button to the Meta page where you fix it. Then click Retry.
What is Meta's non-discrimination policy?
Meta asks a business admin to accept it before ads can run. You accept it in Meta Business Suite, under Business settings → Users → System users.
How do I get to the step that is waiting?
Click the campaign's status label in Campaigns: it opens the detail on that step. Locked steps show the reason on hover.
Do my Meta ads appear on my Instagram profile?
Yes. Each image, video or carousel ad is first published as a post on your brand's Instagram and the ad promotes that post, so likes and comments add up on your profile. In catalog campaigns the post is published too, but the ad keeps the catalog format.
