Webinar: Meta Ads in 2026 — creative is the new targeting
Updated 2026-10-31
"Meta Ads in 2026" is an advanced CustomIQ webinar. Since Meta's Andromeda ad-retrieval system, broad targeting plus many genuinely different creative concepts beats narrow audiences. You see how CustomIQ researches competitor ads, proposes diverse concepts, adds creatives to live campaigns, diagnoses your account and proposes optimizations you approve.

What changed in Meta Ads with Andromeda?
Meta rolled out Andromeda, its AI system for ad retrieval, and it changed how Meta decides which ad to show to whom. Before, you chose the audience with interests and narrow segments and the ad followed. Now Meta reads the creative itself and predicts who will respond to it: your creative does the targeting, and interests are at most a suggestion. "Meta Ads in 2026: creative is the new targeting" is a pre-recorded CustomIQ webinar for advertisers who already run Meta ads. It explains that shift and then shows six moves, each with its real demo.
Which levers matter most for Meta Ads in 2026?
Three, in this order:
- Creative diversity: genuinely different concepts, not small tweaks of one ad.
- Simple structure: few campaigns, broad or Advantage+ audience and automatic placements, so the system has room to learn.
- Clean signal: the pixel plus the Conversions API, with good event match quality.
What counts as a different creative concept?
Near-identical ads tend to be treated as one and end up competing with each other. A new concept changes at least one of: the format (image, video, carousel), the hook in the first seconds (problem, proof, curiosity, offer), the angle (pain, aspiration, objection, founder) or the visual style (polished, native, lo-fi). When you find a winner, build new angles around it instead of cloning it.
How does CustomIQ build diverse concepts in the chat?
Type "Create an ad campaign on Meta." in the IQ chat. Before writing creatives, CustomIQ reads your competitors' active ads in Meta's Ad Library and notes their angles, hooks, offers, formats and the gaps nobody covers. Then it proposes distinct concepts, each with its own hook, angle and format. Press Creatives on the campaign to review them before anything is generated: when you trim proposals to save credits, cut near-copies, not concepts. Deploy campaigns creates the campaign in your Meta ad account paused; it only spends when you switch it on in Ads Manager. How do you refresh a Meta campaign that is already running?
Rising frequency with a falling click-through rate means creative fatigue. Answer it with a new angle, not a copy of the winner. In the IQ chat type "Add an image creative to my Meta campaign." (or video, or carousel), pick the campaign, product and ad set, and read the proposal: angle, headline, copy and what it will show. The proposal is free; you are only charged when you say "generate", and it goes to Meta paused. Full guide: Add a new creative to an active Meta campaign.
How do you turn existing videos into Meta ads?
Format diversity is part of creative diversity. In Video, open Generated videos and press Edit with AI. Choose Dynamic ad for a direct-response cut with fast cuts, giant words and impact screens, and the format for each placement: 9:16, 4:5 or 1:1. Raw, phone-shot footage is a concept of its own, worth testing against polished ads. The quote in credits appears before you start and the original video is never touched. Full guide: Smart Edit.
How do you diagnose a Meta Ads account from the chat?
Ask the IQ chat "Why isn't my ad running?", "Which ad is doing worst?" or "Is my pixel working?". It reads Meta directly, for free: Meta's reason for a rejected ad, how Meta rates each ad's quality, engagement and conversion against similar ads, and each pixel event's match quality. An ad rated below average usually needs a new creative, not more budget. Full guide: Check in the IQ chat what's wrong in your Meta Ads account.
How do you optimize a Meta campaign without breaking the learning phase?
Read the campaign in order. Meta needs around 50 optimization events per ad set per week to exit learning, and big edits to budget, audience or creative restart it, so leave an ad set alone while it is still learning. Wait for enough conversions before calling a winner; spend concentrating on one or two ads is healthy. Then type "Optimize my ad campaign on Meta.": each proposal shows what it changes, its risk, expected impact and why, and nothing changes until you apply it. Daily optimization is off by default; switched on in the campaign in Campaigns, its proposals wait in Optimization proposals. Full guide: Optimize a Meta campaign with improvement proposals.
How should retargeting creative differ from prospecting?
It never reintroduces your brand. It picks up where the person stopped, answers the objection, removes the risk and gives a reason to act now. Type "I want to run retargeting for my campaigns on Meta." and pick the prospecting campaign to build on. For website visitors you need the Meta pixel; the agent checks it and warns you if it is missing. Full guide: Retargeting on Meta.
Steps
- Launch with distinct concepts. Type "Create an ad campaign on Meta." in the IQ chat, review the proposed creatives and keep a mix of formats and angles.
- Refresh a live campaign. Type "Add an image creative to my Meta campaign.", ask for a new angle and say "generate" when the proposal convinces you.
- Turn footage into ads. In Video, press Edit with AI on a video, choose Dynamic ad and the format for each placement.
- Diagnose for free. Ask the IQ chat "Why isn't my ad running?", "Which ad is doing worst?" or "Is my pixel working?".
- Optimize with your approval. Type "Optimize my ad campaign on Meta.", review each proposal and apply only the ones you agree with.
- Retarget warm audiences. Type "I want to run retargeting for my campaigns on Meta." and pick the prospecting campaign to build on.
Frequently asked questions
- Should I stop using interest targeting on Meta?
- Broad or Advantage+ audience is the default now. Interests can still help new accounts with few conversions and very niche or local offers.
- How many creatives should a Meta ad set have?
- There is no magic number. Several genuinely different concepts (format, hook, angle, visual style) beat dozens of near-copies of one ad.
- Does optimizing reset Meta's learning phase?
- Large budget or audience changes can restart it. The CustomIQ agent takes that into account when proposing, and you choose what to apply.
- Can CustomIQ change my Meta campaigns on its own?
- No. Diagnosis only reads Meta, campaigns and new creatives reach Meta paused, and optimization proposals wait for your approval.
