How to connect Instagram to CustomIQ and fix missing permissions

In CustomIQ Instagram publishes through the Meta connection, which needs a professional Instagram account linked to a Facebook Page and every permission granted. If a post fails because of permissions, click "Connect Instagram + Facebook" in Connections, choose "Edit settings" in the Facebook window and tick the account and the Page again; then repeat the post.

In this tutorial you'll connect your Instagram professional account to CustomIQ, so it can publish your posts and answer the comments and messages they receive. You'll also see how to grant the permissions again if Instagram asks for them. This is Connections, under Accounts, with your Instagram accounts. We'll run the connection again to show every step Facebook asks for.

Click Connect Instagram plus Facebook. Facebook Login opens, because Instagram works through the Facebook Page it's linked to.

0:49Edit the previous settings

Continue with your Facebook account. The window shows in your Facebook language. If you connected before, choose to edit the previous settings. That's how you fix a missing permission. First, the Facebook Pages CustomIQ can use. Only the ones you tick are shared. Then your business portfolios. And your Instagram professional accounts. Tick the ones CustomIQ should manage.

1:33Permissions

Finally, Facebook lists the permissions, such as publishing, comments, messages and the Page settings. Keep them all, or comments can't be answered. Save your choices. And close the window to return to CustomIQ.

Your Instagram account is connected. CustomIQ only works with the accounts you chose. CustomIQ also turned on comment and message notifications for the Page. From now on, comments and messages on your posts reach CustomIQ, which can answer them for you. If a post fails for permissions, repeat these steps.
